The oldest of Colleges (Elementary through High School) founded for the education of the Princely order – was established in 1868 by the Princes and Chiefs of Kathiawar for the education of their sons and relations. The Institution began to function in 1870. Rulers of erstwhile States elsewhere in the then Bombay Presidency were later invited to contribute and send their sons to the College for their schooling.
